Pro racer and MTB Experience coach Heidi Kanayan’s take on the race weekend: “Shout out to Luke [‘team mom’] for shuttling me for preriding. I could not have gotten the courses down without his help. I was so concerned about going too fast on a lot of the course and blowing out of corners, and especially about falling off the edge of Confluence and ending up in the river. Rocky was in my head all week because I was so scared I was going to blow up my carbon rims. Having major anxiety about that one. In the end so glad that I got through that in one piece. Super stoked that I won a couple stages. And my bike is still in one piece!” Heidi is based out of Big Bear and coaches private lessons and clinics in the Southern California area.

Sport and Beginner Women lounging before the top of Stage 4.

Stage 1 may not be the most technical trail around, but put it on the side of a cliff and that’s a challenge in itself!

While the rest of us were charging through the final stages of the day, the pro women were cooling off in the American River.

Meanwhile, Coach Sara and team racer Rachel were reppin’ MTB Experience at the Sturdy Dirty Enduro in Oakridge.

Good luck at the next round China Peak Enduro, the first of the CES Golden Tour. Be sure to check out #mtbexpraceteam on Instagram to keep up on our team’s latest adventures. I’ve also created a “MammothBarEnduro2018” media album on the forum for anyone who wants to share photos from the race weekend there!
