WE PRESENT: CASE STUDY / BRITTANY

Brittany’s Story

In March 2017 Brittany attended the Nevada City Women’s Clinic held by YBONC. Paige was the lead coach at this annual clinic with Jeni assisting. Brittany was with her friend and they were both new to mountain biking. Both of their husbands were mountain bikers and Brittany’s son was starting to get into it. According to Brittany, their husbands convinced them to have a weekend away from the kids to learn about mountain biking. ⚡️

Learn, Practice, Progress

Throughout the weekend Brittany learned the basic skills. It was full of the normal trials, tribulations and self-realizations of what she could do.  At one point when the teeter totter came out Brittany said if she knew that was going to be a part of the weekend she wouldn’t have showed up. Not long after this statement she went over the teeter totter like a BOSS.

  • Learn 90% 90%
  • Practice 70% 70%
  • Progress 80% 80%
  • Take it to The Trail 100!% 100!%

After the Clinic

Brittany joined our facebook group:

Women’s MTB Experience

Through the community she met other riders, bought her first pair of five tens, did some web work for Jeni in exchange for coached rides, and fell in love with mountain biking. Trails that left her in tears were now fun.

Yesssssss!

BEFORE AND AFTER

In four short months Brittany’s confidence, form, and ability grew exponentially off a clinic and camaraderie with other female riders. You can see in the picture below the difference in Brittany’s form on a roll down lunge from when she was practicing in the picture above at the clinic. She is low, balanced, has great bike/body separation with her eyes focused ahead.

A Work in Progress

Like A BOSS

The Hubbie

Sending a big thank you to Brittany’s husband for encouraging her to go this route.  We truly believe skills are the foundation of a successful, happy mountain biker.

Welcome, Brittany to our wonderful community of badass riders! 🤘🏽
