Georgetown MTB Weekend

We are going back to Georgetown!

We had so much fun there in 2018 we immediately booked a weekend in 2019!

Once again we will be joining forces with California Expeditions to shuttle some of the best trails in Georgetown California. This retreat is for the rowdy MTBer that likes to shuttle fast technical trails.

What to expect:

shuttling, lots of shuttling
camping
amazing onsite catered food
and a whole lot of fun!

Riders can expect some pedaling on fast, technical trails both days

Rider Level: Intermediate and above (see rider levels on events page)

Q&A

Will I be expected to keep up with the group? We have 3 guides to let riders fall into like speed groups. We will have sweeps with each group to ensure no one is left behind. With that said, the trails of Georgetown are raw, rocky, dusty and fast. There are no significant drops but lots of on-going rocky terrain. You must be comfortable riding in loose, dusty, rocky conditions. Since we will all be in the same shuttle we ask that you meet the intermediate rider level in order to have the fitness to ensure we all finish close together to not hold up the shuttle. We understand there will be some difference in times finish but this is not a beginner level weekend.

What should I bring? Bring a working bike, helmet, pads, extra tube or plug, pump or C02 and water source.

Do I need a full face helmet and knee/elbow pads? Some of the terrain is rocky and fast warranting a full face helmet but not required. We HIGHLY recommend knee and elbow pads.

Can I leave gear in the shuttle van? Yes! For most of the shuttled runs we will be dropped off at the start of a trail and picked up at the bottom. Most of the trails are fairly short and for longer ones we will let everyone know so they can carry a small pack.

Do I need to bring lunch on Saturday? Yes, catered meals start with dinner on Saturday. We will also provide breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We will have chews and bars available as well. Did we mention s’mores?!

Is it okay if I don’t camp? Absolutely! You are more than welcome to eat, hang out but sleep elsewhere. However there are no discounts for camping.

What do I need for camping? We will provide the food, coffee, showering products and utensils. Just bring your tent (unless sleeping in your car), sleep bag/pad, pillow, chair etc.

Is there showers? Well…we will have one solar shower so we ask everyone do a quick rinse off.
